Tobias Batton, Founder and CEO

Tobias Batton is the Founder and CEO of Resistor Productions, a new online game development company dedicated to developing highly accessible MMORPGs that don’t require a lot of money to play.

Tobias started his professional career at AT&T in 2002.  His work as a corporate sales executive earned him many achievement based awards during his tenure, including a President’s Club award in 2005 for the top B2B sales in California.  Following his career at AT&T, in 2006 Tobias founded Liberatedfilms.com, a site that provided a medium for independent content creators to share their work with their fans and peers.  The site evolved into a more general video sharing site, and at its peak was included in the top 15 video sharing sites based on traffic and stats.  The site was acquired by an international media firm in early 2008.

Shortly thereaffter, Tobias spun off an enterprise software product for media companies that wanted to add online video to their site. This quickly grew into the company tranziztor.com. Tobias is primarily active in Resistor.

Marcus Hogue, CTO

Marcus Hogue brings a wide view of current technologies to Resistor Productions from his previous work experience.  Marcus began his career at Allstate Insurance as a server engineer where he researched enterprise Windows and Linux interoperability.  He then took a position on the enterprise capacity management team where he was charged with overseeing enterprise applications and taking proactive measures to ensure high availability for the business.

In 2006, Marcus partnered with Tobias Batton to found Liberated Films and served as the CTO.  There, he created a low-cost scalable web architecture that allowed the company to run very cost effectively from day one.  His technological leadership allowed the company to grow quickly and effectively to the point of being acquired in early 2008.

After Liberated Films, Marcus once again teamed up with Tobias to design the software architecture for Tranziztor, a B2B software company specializing in providing high-definition video platforms for high profile companies, such as The Laugh Factory.

Marcus is currently working on his Master of Science in Information Technology at Northwestern University.  He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Networks and Systems and an Associates degree in Applied Science in Industrial Electronics Technology from Ferris State University.  In addition, Marcus has given presentations on enterprise network modeling and troubleshooting at Ferris State University and sits on the advisory board of the College of Technology.
